I had grown up in a very safe home, my parents were pastors who taught me and showed me the goodness of God and his love for me. Even after all that I had learned and seen, I still found myself doubting God’s existence, which led me to a very dark and depressed time in my life. Yet, in the midst of all the doubting, I could feel God pulling on my heart to have faith again. Still, I chose to stay in the place I was in.
Then one day, it hit me. It was my choice. You see, I never got to have this great moment where I encountered God’s presence after living without him; I grew up always knowing him. I didn’t know that one day I’d be faced with a choice to make God my own. I just thought that since my parents loved God, I would too.
I’m so grateful to my parents for guiding me towards God as a kid. Without their teaching, I’m not sure I’d have heard God’s voice calling me out of the darkness. And I definitely would not have chosen to serve and love God. So, thank you mom and dad!
Let’s face it, we all go through things in our lives at different times and in different places. But, we are all faced with the same choice – to go for God or to live without Him. Every person must choose for themselves; no one can do it for you and no one can stop you. Make your choice, go for God!
